Baptisms At GPC

We regularly include infant and adult baptisms as part of our worship services.

Baptism signifies the faithfulness of God, rebirth and adoption into the covenant family of the church.

For infant baptisms, parents must meet with the Senior Pastor to ensure that everyone understands the meaning of this important sacrament. It is strongly encouraged that both parents be members of GPC, because part of the baptism service includes a commitment on the part of the church to commits itself to nurture the child in faith. As part of a worship service, parents publicly declare their desire that the baby be baptized.

Baptism is received only once. Its effect is not tied to the moment when it is administered, for it signifies the beginning of life in Christ, not its completion.

New believers in Christ are strongly encouraged to be baptized soon after making that commitment.
