POSITION: Children's Ministry Leader
Reports to: Senior Pastor Department: Christian Education
Supervises: Youth Interns or Children team volunteers
Classification: Part-time: 20 hrs @ week w/ Flexible scheduled hours relative to
children's activities Salary Range: Up to $26,000 @
year or $25. @ hr.

I. JOB SUMMARY:
To prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up
(Ephesians 4:12), with emphasis on planning, coordinating, directing, and leading weekly children's
ministry.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
. Develops weekly thematic plans and selects appropriate focus and activities for
elementary students (pre-school to grade 5) for Sunday School, KFC, and other
children's activities, with participatory emphasis
Communicates plans to staff, volunteer teams, and the church promptly
Supervises and facilitates children's activities: games, small groups, music,
spiritual formation
Plans and coordinates Day Camp activities
Recruits and trains volunteers to assist with children's activities
Schedules and directs special events, i.e., family game night, movie night
Facilitates student recruitment and markets community outreach, i.e., Kids' Club
with local schools
Supervises nursery management and supervision
Oversees the organized and neat facilities and communicates w/ pastor or the Office
Administrator of the facility needs
Participates in staff and ministry leadership meetings, when possible
Manages and structures the budget in collaboration with Christian Education
Committee and/or Session
Maintain professional standards and attends job appropriate professional
development with approval of the Session, Christian Education, or Personnel
Committees
Performs other duties as assigned by Pastor, Christian Education, and/or Personnel

III. Required Personal Attributes:
Applicant possesses physical, mental, interpersonal, and creative qualities that enable
him/her to effectively execute all duties that are typically encountered and reasonably
expected while serving in the role of children's ministry leader.
IV. Qualifications and Experience
Experience leading
Ability to lead and mentor volunteer team(s) that will be proficient in
Strong organizational and people skills
Possess a positive attitude and the ability to motivate and praise others
Strong Christian commitment to serving as a disciple of Christ (highly
desirable)
V. Compensation
Up to $26,000 @ year salary range (negotiable and commensurate w/ education
level and/or experience) or $25 @ hour w/ negotiated flexible scheduled hours.
